As a avid video game player, i'm not certain if i've ever played a game that was sponsored by the army, i've played my fair share of war like video games. I agree with the idea the main purpose of these video games is to start to lead young adults to start having an interest in the army and even possibly joining it. Before reading this article i've never heard of the free video game "America's Army" that is available to so many americans. I've never been to a NASCAR event or a state fair, so since they commonly distribute copies of them there, maybe thats why.
I have no agruments against what the army is doing and i think its a great way to start to getting people interested in the army, and i'm sure it works. some people would probably not want there kids playing the game, but thats there job to watch what there kids are doing. In my eyes its a free video game, what's not to like about it? I'm not joining the army. At this point in my life i know that the army isn't for me, so i can see how it would have a bigger effect on the younger teens, but thats a job for their parents to regulate.

Peter, I couldnt agree with you more on the matter. I feel that if parents dont want their children to be playing these video games, they should assume some responsibility and not allow it. Also I myself did not attend too many NASCAR or state fairs growing up but I would be interested in doing it recently if you wouldnt mind accompanying me. Good blog.
